Marvel Rivals Developer Says There's Currently No Plan for a PvE Mode But they're continually experimenting with new game modes.

Though *Marvel Rivals* is still in its early days, players are already buzzing with excitement over potential new features. Recent rumors about a possible PvE boss fight have sparked speculation that a PvE mode could be on the horizon. However, NetEase has clarified that there are no immediate plans for such a mode... at least not yet.

During the DICE Summit in Las Vegas this week, we caught up with *Marvel Rivals* producer Weicong Wu to ask about the possibility of a PvE mode. Here’s what he had to say:

*"For now, we don’t have any kind of PvE plan, but our development team is continuously experimenting with new gameplay modes. If we find that a specific mode is entertaining and fun enough, we would, of course, bring it to our audience."*

After Wu’s response, Marvel Games executive producer Danny Koo chimed in, asking if I personally wanted a PvE mode in *Marvel Rivals*. I told him I did, and Wu elaborated:

*"Yeah, we believe there are some in our audience who would enjoy a PvE mode. However, if we were to create a hardcore PvE experience, it would need to be a completely distinct and unique addition compared to what we currently offer. Our team has been experimenting with different approaches to achieve that goal—perhaps something lighter, in a more casual sense—to see what works best for the game."*

For now, it seems there are no concrete plans for PvE, but Wu’s comments suggest NetEase is exploring ideas for a "lighter" mode, possibly as a limited-time event or similar concept. Beyond that, the studio is keeping details under wraps.

In the meantime, *Marvel Rivals* continues to roll out updates every month and a half, with new characters like Human Torch and The Thing set to join the roster on February 21. During our conversation, we also asked Wu and Koo about the possibility of a Nintendo Switch 2 release for *Marvel Rivals* (which you can read about here) and whether they’ve been trolling dataminers with fake hero "leaks" in the game’s code. Stay tuned for more updates!
